Anyone here sell Cutco? I want to make you money.

I did a search and found a number of topics involving it show up here so it seemed better than the flames that would probably show up in GenMay.
I worked for them for a summer during college and still love the knives I left with.
Now I'm registering for my wedding and am considering signing up for them. It has a spot for your CutCo rep so I thought I'd throw someone here in if they're selling since I doubt mine works anymore :)

cutco knives are the shit

I need to find a rep too!

i'm betting you could call up the headquarters and say you used to work for them and put an order on your old account... I might try and do that to get the best deals..

Not trying to thread-shit here, but Cutco knives aren't all that great at all.. especially for your wedding ask for some nicer stuff.

Try Henkels, Whistorf, MAC, and Global.

Edit: Oh snap, I forgot about Shun

ShoelessOne 10-04-2007 06:56 PM

I'd go with global

chuckybob 10-04-2007 07:33 PM

shun for the win.

Don't get knives that are "too much" for you, unless you like throwing away money on knives you can't take care of.

It is actually Henckels BTW.

I have a set of their Twin Selects. Great knives.

That's one reason I'm not sure I want to get a set of quality knives yet... my roommates tend to use my knives and leave them in the sink.

Yeah roommates screwed up my good Kasumi and my Globals. One dude cut an onion and left it on the counter. Stained the blade.

EDIT: OP, list better knives if you want to use them for life.

Dongboy 10-05-2007 08:35 AM

unlesss wusthof & henckel have a set of knives you can't buy in a nice cutlery store then I disagree with them being as nice as the cutco offerings

A set you can't buy in a nice cutlery store? Does that mean you've used all of the blades found in nice cutlery stores? Or do you immediately discredit them because they use normal selling methods instead of taking advantage of dumb teenagers? I  my Henckels Twins.

Heathen-Yak 10-05-2007 05:25 PM

You don't NEED a set of knives you need a handfull. Chefs, maybe a fillet knife if you skin fish...a bread knife maybe, steak knives, maybe a paring knife and that's it.......maybe a carving knife. you don't need a 72 piece knife set though, as sexy as they are.
