Official "Showoff Your Gear" Thread!

You have spoken, and I have listened! So without further ado, here is your official "check out my new gear" thread!! (aka- "hay guyz, look what I just bought!!1", "new camera/glass", etc.)

The main goal of this thread is to create a "database of what photo[M]ayers own". Think of it as our own little photo album of everyone's gear! This isn't a free roaming ground however, and there are rules you must follow:

+When posting new cameras/glass, you must include:

1: Box shot, un-opened.

2: Knive shot

3: Open box shot with gear

4: Any pet and/or human.. It has to be something living.. Flowers can be used if it's unpossible to get any of the other things

+Short explanation/story about what's going on (ie., where did you find the item, why did you upgrade, etc)

+Gear pr0n must be kept to a PG rating ;)

+(any others?)

Of course, failure to comply with these rules will not result in any major punishment. They are just a few guidelines we'd like everyone to adhere to if possible :)

Reminder: Even though we have this "official camwhore your gear" thread, you are still allowed to create your own thread if you have a specific question/problem/concern regarding your recent purchase. Just as well, you can always post questions in here, and hopefully people are active enough that those don't get lost. But do remember that you are not limited to posting new stuff in here only.

So with that, I hope everyone enjoys this, and let our little "family album" begin!! :)
whats the deal with the tape?
I think its called Gaffer tape, and its used to prevent scratches or stop parts from moving.

This.

And because I hate it when I see other tog's and they start ranting about how their D200/D300 whatever is so much better at doing whatever it was I was doing.

But mostly because it makes it look old and broken. Same reason I have this strap instead of a bright yellow Nikon one

(not me)
