Extreme chills, stomach pains, achey body; I think I'm dying
Now I'm a 22 year old male and I do not get sick very often. Every once in a while I will get a severe sore throat, but aside from that, I do not get cold or even allergies. I can't remember the last time I looked in my drug cabinet. Now here is the problem, it seems that over the course of one night I've gotten some unknown disease.

To sum things up, I'm cold, very very cold. I have a long t-shirt on, with sweat pants, a sweat shirt, a hoodie, and even some socks to boot. I'm still cold. Not to mention I sleep with two blankets as well, not that thick but two none the less. I'm aching and cold to the point where I have to take HOT shower (hotter than I'm used to) and I'm still shaking when that hot water is running around me.

To make things worse my stomach also feels quite un-easy. I feel like I'm full or gasy, in short I feel as if there is a constant pressure on my stomach. My 'shits' as I like to call them are fine, aside from them not being as regular and one day where I had it in the explosive liquid flavor.

I'm running a light fever and the only thing I have around my hosue is Advil, I've take about three of the pills over the course of the day and I'm not feeling any beter. I'm also taking a multi-vitiman.

Like I said I don't get sick much so I don't know what is wrong with me. My job requires me to talk to people for hours on end and I cannot do that in this fashion. Does anyone have a slight idea of what is wrong with me?

Edit: I looked up symptoms on WebMD and they were of little help.

My brother's been having the same symptoms. It sounds like the flu. Call your doctor if your fever doesn't break soon. Also, keep taking the Advil as directed and no more.

Could very well be dying!

I got the same symptoms in Iraq. It was weird standing outside in 105F shivering, I realised I was not dying, but gee I wished I could at least be unconscious. Mind you, I saw a doc and got some painkillers and bed rest, so I did get better. You on the other hand... who knows?

I was never diagnosed, but it is probably a cold. Yours could be early onset HIV though! Think positive... test positive!

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Turned out i was pretty severely dehydrated. Drink water until you have to piss every 5 minutes. and then drink some more. see if that helps, if not get to a doctor ASAP

Drink lots of water
Take lots of Vitamin C
Take Advil/Tylenol to reduce fever
Take Nyquil before bed because it rocks
Sleep extra

sounds viral. Sleep, water, vitamins, and alternate tylenol and advil for fever and aches.

That my friend is the flu. I've only have "The Flu" once and it was a terrible experince I never want to repeat. If you're looking for something to make yourself feel better get some TheraFlu. If nothing else it stops the chills and makes your stomach feel normal. Beyond that there isn't much else you can do, eat some soup, get sleep, orange juice helps with vitamin C/dehydration too. Though if you're not vomiting dehydration is less of on issue.

the flu

You have got to be kidding me. Please tell me you live in a plastic bubble and never knew the world was full of viruses and diseases? If this is truly the first time you've been sick, welcome to the real world. Secondly, here is not the place for a diagnosis of what is wrong with you, although I am going to side with some of the people here and agree you probably have the flu or a really bad cold. You will need to keep up your strength through your 'ordeal' and do as others have said. Eat foods that are bland and are easy to digest, rest (sleep) and take medicine if you need it. If your job doesn't allow for any sick time--you have a shitty job.

I understand you don't feel well, but seriously, you aren't dying--you're just being a wuss. ;)

I developed a fever/achy body/cough yesterday after telling a co-worker that I haven't been sick in years. I currently have a fever of 100.4. Good luck with your flu. :(

You're sick.

You feel cold because of the fever.

It sounds like flu.

Get well soon.

Fizickse 02-02-2008 11:20 AM

the extreme chills could mean you have a nasty flu
i remember when i was younger and i had something like that, and was shivering quite a lot even under multiple sheets of blankets

UnderWaterman 02-02-2008 11:32 AM
