Olbermann vs. Hannity or Beck

First thread in a while.

So lefty vs. righty; does anyone think Hannity or Beck is the equivalent of Olbermann? I can't believe that guy is still on the air. As bad as H and B are, even combined they don't seem to be as bad as O. He continuously used ad hominem attacks even when Bush was in office.

Is this guy over the line or not?

lol, I love Olbermann. He can be over the top and over dramatic at times but I don't think he is anywhere near the level of Hannity or Beck.

What a surprise

They're all pretty much the same, it's just that people side with the host whose political views best resemble theirs. It's funny, because these people also treat an attack on said host as an attack against themselves.

I used to be a Repub though I'm still registered that way. I think Hannity's a tool, and Beck is a goof. Olbermann on the other hand is full of vitriol for Repubs and Conservatives and everyone else that dares disagree with him.

I don't watch any of them really. I did catch one bit on youtube where Olbermann was tearing apart Beck and his conspiracy bullshit about rockefeller and that was pretty funny

He should be because they're horrible people?

Anyone that disagrees with Olbermann is automatically a horrible person?

Wow, such power!

Tom 10-28-2009 12:27 PM

Olbermann is a sensationalist to be sure, but to put him on the same level of Hannity and Beck is silly.

No they're self evidently horrible and Olbermanns just picking low hanging fruit, do I really need to explain this?

AllUranusBelong2Me! 10-28-2009 02:11 PM
Olbermann is a sensationalist to be sure, but to put him on the same level of Hannity and Beck is silly.
I think he's worse than Hannity. However, his ratings are much lower so fewer people are exposed to his BS.

TV ratings don't mean anything when each of their broadcasts are available online.

No, actually they are not the same. Olbermann may have his bias but he presents his point of view in an intelligent, well researched, factual manner, usually without histrionics and excessive hyperbole. Beck and Hannity are retarded tools. Beck especially is a fringe lunatic who spouts ridiculous conspiracy theories laden with factual errors. Both of them can't possibly fit enough references to communism, socialism, fascism, and whatever other -isms they are throwing around that day into their broadcasts. Beck is a clown, Hannity is a slightly more reserved clown. I'm sorry if this is news to you.

And no I don't consider attacks on Olbermann as an attack on myself, I don't always agree with him. I consider the suggestion that Beck is on par with Olbermann an attack on objective reality.

Do you have any examples of his vitriol? I wouldn't consider him that vitriolic. About the meanest thing he does on his show is label someone worst person in the world and that is fairly tongue in cheek. But serious vitriol? That, to me, suggests that he is in the same sort of league as political hacks like Anne Coulter, who's vitriol knows no bounds.

If you really want to hear some serious vitriol on a daily basis, listen to some AM radio. I don't think Olbermann has ever come close to that level.
