have you gotten to get into major mods yet? iirc you were waiting for the warranty to run out
Just clipped 50k so that's why I'm at the tipping point. It's get a new ride or pulley up with supporting mods and go for 650-ish at the wheel. The car has been a dream so far, but I can sell now for a great price. Within a year I see these cars being driven by 18 year olds and the forums will go to hell.

for eighteen year olds to have them the price would have to drop... do you really see that happening?

BMW community was and still is being ruined in that way. MR2 owner groups are recovering, many fewer stance bros are around shitting the groups and boards up than before.

Once these start going in the high 20's, there will be a massive influx of late-teens with more than average income and it will fall to pieces. It happened to the Lightning community, it happened to the w219 E55 community, and it will happen to the CTS-V Gen2 community. I have a guy that constantly asks me if I want to sell it, and I told him for 35K I'd let it go right now, and he told me if I was serious he'd take it right then. I backed off because I need to know what I want next first. Time to hit up the AMG forums and see if it's worth it.

Do you drain the pan at all or does the pump get low enough into the sump to grab everything?

GhEttOrAiD 03-16-2017 07:25 AM

I flush out the filter housing and dump some leftover top-off-oil into the fill port from my previous change and suck that up. Buuut even still there are probably some remnants that I'm missing by doing it topside.

Total amount of oil sucked out, according to the gradations on my carboy is just about all of it.
