why is the Guantanmo Torture Chamber still open?

didn't Obama say he was going to close it when he ran for President the 1st time?

Or did I remember that wrong?

The prez signed an EO saying it should be shut but then congress passed a law saying that no funds would be made available to decommission it or move any of the prisoners to facilities in the US.

They ain't never getting out.

Nobody wants these prisoners, not their birth country or any others...including the ones that screamed about them being innocent.:tard:

Obama was a junior Senator when he landed the Presidential gig, and the realities of the job are starting to set in now that he's into his second term. Campaign promises and reality are often two different things..

With those chinkanese uyghurs (or however the fuck you americunt fatties write that) it's kind of interesting. They're jizzlamists pretty much, but their enemy is the oppressive chinese government. In some sense, the US is detaining and interrogating terrists that wanted to terrorize someone else

captainjerk 04-19-2013 01:04 PM

putting terrorists in actual prisons would probably be more rape and torture

But then again the national news is ignoring everything not related to Boston right now...so I guess it's possible.

so reading through that again I see:

Six months into the new administration, a Democratically controlled Congress passed legislation that prevented the president from moving any Guantanamo detainee into the U.S. or to other countries, a policy that continues today.

Should that also say "and the president signed into law"?
