Teeth whitening products

Well I am interested in buying a set of the teeth whitening products, but I am not really sure which product is most effective. Does anyone have a preference or first hand experience with good results?

I got lucky. My orthodontist made me temporary plastic retainers before I got my metal ones that could be used as a bleaching tray. I just bought the bleaching agent and wear it a few days after my cleanings every 6 months.

I get Crest Premium Whitestrips and they work great, about $40 for a 10 day supply IIRC.

I use those and love them too - I buy them cheap (and sealed) on eBay for $20 plus a few shipping.

The strips that dissolve aren't as effective, and you have to use them for like twice as many days, so I don't recommend them.

after trying out a few different bleaching products, i decided to goto my dentist and have it done professionally. it cost $300 but it's worth it, especially if you get a crap load of scale on your teeth like i do. :(

all of them are basically the same thing that the dentists use, just at lower strength. Just keep in mind that you can develop sensitive teeth for a while using the home versions. If you don't mind waiting or have sensitive teeth arm and hammer and peroxide also works but it takes a couple of months.

I have been using that mouth wash type stuff. It works nicely I think.

crest whitening strips

man get an electric tooth brush if you want pearly whites

Xtreme Panda 02-23-2008 04:27 PM

I assume scale = plaque

Frenetic 02-23-2008 05:12 PM

Ah, okay. The Crest Whitestrips were good for me. I should buy some more.

i've been curious...is the same true with teeth whitening strips as with things like aspirin? do the generics (e.g. the equate brand whitening strips) do the same job as the name brands?
Scale? What do you mean?
flouride causes scale on your teeth which helps turn them a crappy colour. i get it quite a lot, i think its called flouridosis or something.

you can get rid of it with brushing but the crap colour remains no matter what :(
