IRL trolls to burn Korans. Can they out "Phelps" Phelps?

Apparently this Terry Jones fellow is a fucking nutbag who was pretty much forced to flee germany when his congregation there became fed up with his radicalism and fanaticism and also some possible fraud. lol, fantastic.

I like how people are trying to equate this to the ground zero mosque. IMHO they are not the same. One is a community outreach center which is supposed to promote understanding of islam and peace, the other is a fucking whackjob burning holy books with absolutely no possible positive outcome. The dude is just a fucking troll. An IRL, attention whoring, religious whackjob troll. Quite possibly the worst kind of troll ever.

So what is your take on this?

Runding 09-08-2010 09:54 PM

My take on this is "Burn a Koran day" will also become "Jihad n' blow em all up Day"

edit: I should have added "just like in 2001"

Even Gen Petreous said this was a terrible idea that would only make things worse.

Although, I do wonder if it would even make the news if he was burning bibles instead.

Sweet.
Sounds like a bright and sunny future!

what good could possibly come of it? I'd like to ask that preacher if he though a radical muslim burning bibles would convince moderate christians that he was right. when he says no, which is the only possible rational answer, I would ask him what he hopes to accomplish with this.
Although, I do wonder if it would even make the news if he was burning bibles instead.
most likely, someone would make hay out of it somewhere. and really, when was the last time anyone publicly announced that they were going to burn some bibles. according to google it was our military...

welp

I propose a burn every holy book day of counter protest because all religion is equally stupid and in the hands of stupid people, equally dangerous.

matt00926 09-09-2010 06:40 AM

It's ridiculous that Muslims get so butthurt about drawings of their precious pedophile or burning of the Koran...enough so that they chant for the death of Americans (and everyone else doing similar acts) worlwide.

That said, Phelps is a retard and that is the only point he is proving by planning to do this.

joemama 09-09-2010 09:19 AM

If you're trolling for people who think this is a good idea, I don't think you'll find any here...sorry. On the other hand, you've got to take a hard look at exactly why most people think this is a bad idea...do Muslims really believe that every single Quran was printed on Allah's divine printing press? It's just a book people..:wtf:

As far as this idiot pastor and his congregation are concerned, they are attention and media whores. If they really felt this was the "right thing to do" they could do it quietly and without letting the whole world know what they were up to...do they really think this will inspire Christians worldwide to follow suit?:tard:

I have to hand it to him, this guy is the most successful troll ever. He's managed to elicit a response from the president of the US and numerous other world leaders - even from the vatican. And he's not even doing anything that's technically illegal.

That being said, I'll laugh if he gets murdered by an extremist.

RuHo 09-09-2010 01:53 PM

Besides burning books is so fucking 1930's anyway.

Why not modernize blasphemy and defecate and/or masturbate on the fucking thing? Sure seems more sacrilegious. Germans might pay good money for the kinkier stuff aswell, I can imagine them milking themselves over teenagers pooping on korans. Who doesn't

The book's writing has been unchanged since the orginial text was written by the Prophet (PBUH).

I heard on the radio that he "contacted" the people who wanted to build it and they agreed to move it and he wouldn't burn any copies of the Quran, but the person reporting it specified that none of this was confirmed. Hell, I wouldn't back down from this swamp dweller.
