You always have to take the mag out to remove the slide. Besides it is much safer when there are no bullets in the gun while you clean it also.

In order to remove the slide you must press on a pin that is opposite the teardrop shaped latch. When you depress this pin, it will allow you to turn the teardrop shaped latch 90 degrees.

This will release the slide. You should end up with this.

Once you are to this point simply pull the recoil spring out, then the barrel.

That is the quick and dirty way to disassemble a Beretta 9000S/D
