Going to get the steel for the locks this weekend.

I'll notch the bottoms of the drawers enough that they'll accommodate a 1/4" steel rod.
After that, it's a fairly simple piece (a piece of angle iron that slides up and down in the carcass, with 3 1/4" rods on it). In the "up" position, where it locks, the rods will engage the notches, and the drawers will lock shut.

The only thing I haven't worked out yet is how to transmit the motion to the second set of drawers. I'll either have to have a second lock inside the big cabinet to the right, or use angle that's rigid enough to go across the drawers (which will add weight).
