The point is to distract the masses while their tax money is distributed to the special interests who vote and keep politicians in office.

The last few millenia were missing one component that is present today. The internet.

The internet is the pandoras box, it is the trojan horse of western society. It is what will usher in the new paradigm. It will liberate more people than ever has before.

It is absolutely NECESSARY to hold the internet as open and get as many people going to the internet as possible for their source of news and information.

I think to most people on this forum, it's pretty obvious, that if you need to verify the truth of something, you go to google, and you look it up, and you take into account MULTIPLE sources, and qualify them for bias.

Believe it or not, we are in a radical minority for thinking that way. The majority of people will still hold what they hear on Fox News, CNN, NPR Talk shows, the newspaper, friends etc. In higher and more valid regard than potential research they can do themselves on the internet. Not only does this apply to common people, but also to government representatives.

Most members of congress and most representatives don't go to Google, type in an issue, read multiple articles from multiple sources and multiple belief backgrounds. They listen to advisers, they listen to pamphlets of paper being passed around the office.

No wonder shit is fucked up?

While people who go to the internet and do their own research can still come to radically different conclusions, I think it is very easy to see that anyone who does there own research from the internet is RADICALLY more informed, and more aware of our current situation than someone who just listens to the TV or the radio.

The internet will help to bring in a new paradigm where no longer are people having information pushed onto them, almost unconciously, from just a few sources like Newspaper, Radio shows or Television newscasters. But rather, people will willingly and consciously go out and find information, on their own accord, from many different sources.

Rather than information just being passed down the 'truth hierarchy' or 'truth pyramids', King to servant, Government to people, Newspaper to readers. The internet is going to destroy all truth hierarchies. Because everyone will have equal access to truth through the internet from thousands of different points on the map.

It is possible to break humanity of the cycle it has been in for the past 3,000+ years right now.

Because the information on the internet is completely independent of the same scourge that's managed to infiltrate and degenerate all other media outlets, right?

completely?

No

Does it have sources/supply info that agenda driven media wont?

Yes.

Rathergate springs to mind.

Hell the whole Dan Rather "Only I decide if it's news" springs to mind. Without the internet the phenomenon of independent experts on a subject weighing in less than 24 hours after a hoax is perpetrated by a major news agencywould not have happened.

It took a long time for the truck catching on fire in a side impact "news" segment to get busted for using igniters to set the truck on fire Before impact.

And other hoaxes of similar sort never really got exposed with only a fraction of a % of the population ever finding out.

Oh of course I agree. The internet is where you go for information if you know how to look for it. If youre one of those poor souls who still gets his or her news from Fox or CNN.... well, thats just a lost cause, really.
But the point is this: something happens in between the time it takes for the information to travel from someones mouth to someone elses hands through our TVs. Whatever the source of this ill information, whether its the government, the news stations, or some sort of fucked combination of the two, we arent getting the facts straight. The internet is subject to this just the same. Its much more reliable because it allows for independent voices, this is true. Its the best we've got right now.

Now say one day a majority of us called for revolution. How would we communicate? The internet, naturally. Wouldnt last a fucking minute. They wouldnt even shut us down, they could just as easily destroy us from the inside, dont you think?
