because neurogenesis doesnt occur at the axional branches of the CNS.

You can drop the brain in the head, but you can never hook it up to the body.

Think technology will ever get there?

I mean transplanting a brain into a healthier cloned you?

I understand if your brain is x-fered its still xx years old, just weird things I am thinking that maybe some day could come to pass? idk.....

Transferring your consciousness to external storage (read: cybernetic brain) seems more likely. Our bodies (and by association, organs) don't last very long.

Its just crap I am thinking. It's as if cloning and stem cell research has not been a hot topic for a long time now.....

Just thinking a bunch of stuff that some of you may have great input on this.

But your post makes sense.

if you cloned yourself to produce a "new" body for yourself, you'll have that dollyproblem unless you're able to lengthen the telomeres, which is really what you'd need to look into before trying to clone yourself anyway, ignoring all of the other problems of aging.

note that if your new body produced offspring, those children would be "normal," but you can't transplant brains anyway, so please don't go with this

but your brain will be old and suffering from dementia anyway

I understand what you're saying. I was just playing off the thought of if technology could allow this?

I am not Dio, I am just free balling some thoughts here......

stem cells open a lot of doors. But ultimately it will be genetic engineering that is the technology that "fixes" the problems you're referring to.

Its not impossible forever.

that doesn't seem efficient

as in bothering to clone vs. using an organisms own repair methods.
