And what are you supposed to do when you need to tow/haul something or move more then just a single person? What if you have to do it somewhat frequently?

I'd definitely put my money on the majority of asians (especially those who are first generation American) to be frugal. A lot of the times they come over to the United States with very little money (my parents included) so they save very carefully. Trucks are completely impractical for every day use.

Even most asians that do have a lot of money still buy carefully and usually would buy Lexus or Acura instead of any European or American brands. Eventually though I think this type of mentality will wear off for most asian-americans. I never hung out with the asian crowds so I'm a fully assimilated "twinkie", and I drive one of the most unreliable cars in the world: a classic Range Rover. 12mpg ftw.

Because asians are smarter than your typical american I guess

A better questions is why do so many americans love the pickup truck as a leisure vehicle?

Like my next door neighbor. He's a chunky fella, uses his f150 as a DD. He's the only person/object inside it at all times.

This shit started with farms and a working man image obviously, but today it's down to "overweight nacho and football fan"

If you have a need for a truck, god bless you, obviously.

when did this place get infested with tree fucking hippies?

Try and move residences with a car then try it with a truck and see which ones better.

Try and move a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries for that matter.

1. you can easily put a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries into a car

2. if your most common usage for your truck is grocery shopping, you're retarded

3. if you're putting your groceries in the bed of your truck you're doubly retarded, even if you have a bed cover. you don't want your shit sliding around

4. the only way you would need a truck to carry hundreds of dollars worth of groceries is if you're buying hundreds of dollars worth of potatoes, rice or bottled water

Do you even shop for groceries? Unless you go by yourself and fill your seats, not gonna happen.

So you must be riding in a bicycle everywhere you go or riding the bus? Every other vehicle aside from a 2 seater smart car is completely unreasonable. Go ahead and explain why you need a luxury sedan and why a bus ticket wouldnt be more efficient

Why is this even an issue? Put the delicate stuff in the backseat and the rest goes in the bed. You couldn't figure this out? I'm surprised you could pass a driving test with that lack of common sense

Yes, I do. Cars these days have an amazing feature called a "trunk". It's quite innovative.

Obviously you missed the point because your straw man has pretty much nothing to do with what I said.

Right because eggs are the only thing I don't want rolling around the bed of the truck. It's always fun to have to dive into the bed to get a box of cereal.

You can buy hundreds of dollars worth of groceries at Costco and Sams Club and fit everything into the trunk of an Accord, idiot. The amount of money spent does not determine the size of the food packaging.

I DD an '01 Duramax. It's great when I have to haul shit around for work, and the fuel economy is decent (relatively).

However, I do quite a bit of city driving on the weekends, and it's a pain in the ass to parallel park it on a busy street or find a parking structure that has a high enough clearance.

There are good reasons to buy them, and good reasons not to. Race not being either.

Ever since i bought a house, im finding myself wanting a truck more and more often. Whether its to go get lumber (yeah, 4 trips in an accord isnt fun), or to pick up tools or equipment, or just to move a piece of furniture.

The need would taper off in time, but right now it sure would be nice. I dont think those are poor reasons for owning a truck.

because most Asians have already done the math and know that it makes more sense to hire a Mexican that already owns a truck and pay them for their labor instead of carrying the cost of owning a truck/using it rarely.
