$249 for Cool Roof Coating - worth it?

Received an email deal as an Angie's List member for "cool roof coating", a $450 value for $249.
Has anyone had this done and can testify to its effectiveness?

I consider all email offers to not be worth the money. When I think of "roof coating" I just picture something that is sprayed or rolled on. You can probably just pick up a few gallons of the material yourself, a long roller, and save yourself about 100 bucks if 250 includes everything.

Knew a guy who had an old school jeep wrangler with the black hard top in texas. He painted just the surface facing the sky white. Said he noticed a difference.

This is a deal that was sent to Angie's List members in my area, so it's legit. Sorry for not mentioning that.

Why do you say that Coqui?

brief research seems to indicate itll turn your roof white. You willing to do that?

(also, its 59 bucks a 5 gallon bucket, and you have a shallow roof, just do it yourself, might take an hour or two of rolling)

Because while effective, it's a pain in the ass to do yourself on a slant. It's also somewhat of a ripoff at the price they're quoting you (unless you have a huge roof)

Also as FD says, you're going to have to live with a reflective looking roof or a white roof that others will be able to see if you have it done. When I did it, it was a silver color. (Not on my house but in a business)

I'm tampering with the thought of doing the flat metallic roof on our sunroom with peel 'n' seal. It also has a light leak, which peel n seal should cover; however I'm not too sure of its' thermal properties. It has shiney reflective backing. thoughts?

s use it as sound deadening for their rice rockets.

The biggest and most obvious problem I see is that the terms state 300 square feet.

Now maybe they just mean for insulation, but if they mean that for the roof coating, I hope you live in a garage.

I had a roof done a few months back for a very small rental property, something like 800sq feet max, and the roof was about 1100 sq feet.

I'd double check with someone to clarify that.

Don't know what climate you got, but painting the roof white is the new black - Shaves some bucks of cooling - And the titanium oxide makes it somewhat self cleaning.

If you have functioning soffit and peak vents, it shouln't do that much... my attic on this 90 degree day was only 115. i could feel a convestion breeze bringing cool air in the soffits and out the top. (FUCK pulling wire in that situation... I was soaked with sweat in about ten minutes... running in my eyes, my mouth, my hands were so sweaty they were slipping on the romex )

yeah, cool roof coating is for flat roofs.

if you have an attic adding extra insulation could be good for you too though.
