And neither is utopian optimism. Noonan and her quote are so full of shit it's not worth my time.

If you want to make a difference in world and make it a little more libertarian than stop supporting a crazy ol' racist and support something that is actually making a difference like the Cato Institute.

The founders were realists. That's why they had realistic goals. If you notice they limited themselves to the colonies and didn't try some mass world revolution. They also were realistic and got French assistance.

The American Revolution worked because it was realistic.

Libertarianism does not mean groupthink. Ron Paul is a paranoid old man and he is damaging the "movement" more than he is helping it. I don't have to support every person who proclaims to be a libertarian.

I just cannot bring myself to support a "libertarian" who believes every conspiracy he is told, wants to stop open immigration, and associates himself with the racist Ludwig von Mises institute.

Ron Paul has attracted more followers who agree largely with what he says (including myself even) than people who even know what the CATO institute is.

Now who's being delusional?

That's the problem.

Since when does a bunch of college kids giving money to Ron Paul = policy change? I never said anything about the Cato institute being more popular, I said it was better.

You're not even addressing anything I was talking about.

Ah, so only some people are qualified to be a part of your movement and they have to contribute in ways approved by you. Fantastic.

Bearing in mind the concept of contextualism, I feel as if the implicit values of the Martin Luther King Day money bomb conflict the meaning of the holiday with the donation event itself. By coupling Ron Paul with this revolutionary figure, one whom relates to the former in only the most general sense, youíve worked to besmirch MLK.

Civil disobedience is no more a libertarian principle than the ideology of Terrence McKenna or the grounds of the American Indian Movement, but Dr. No certainly wonít touch those two. Go on and befuddle every holiday coming up with this six degrees of Kevin Bacon . Ron Paul can ramble on all day about government waste, but he wonít turn down one red cent for his campaign.

Fuck that.
