Foiled by BMW :(

So I'm trying to change the Zahnriemen and wasserpumpe and I apparently need a special goddamned wrench to get the Lüfterkupplung off. It seems that a 32mm thin wrench is nowhere to be found. Loads of 22mm and 36mm (you know, for the normal-sized Lüfterkupplung, but no 32mm. Tried a bike headset wrench, but it's not long enough and my cheater pipe isn't big enough to fit over it

BMW of Seattle OR Bellevue won't let me borrow one even if I put down all my credit cards as collateral. They will, however, charge me $1900 to do something I can do for a six pack (ok, 12 pack, who are we kidding) of PBR.

Tex, I'll be waiting.

Is what I really need. Single end. 15-20" long. I know I can order online, but I have a 3 day weekend and I was planning on getting this done now

Google up bicycle headset wrench. 32mm was a common size back when threaded headsets were king.

Edit: nevermind, helps if I read the OP.

Go to an equipment rental store (cranes, heavy machinery, plows, chainsaws, etc.). They usually have huge wrenches. Or NAPA.

ok billy boy, if i'm reading correctly, you're removing the fan clutch, but can't find the proper thin-wrench? (ze german, it eez cute, but does not help) and you need a 32m?

go to BOTH Advance Auto parts and AutoZone and ask for the fan clutch wrench set for a '93 F150 with a 4.9L I6

i've replaced the fan clutch on my truck two or three times and i every time i have to get the kit from both places because they use two different companies for their Rent-A-Tool program and each one is lacking a section of the tool i need, but i'm almost positive that one of the two kits has a 32mm thin wrench in it

might be wrong, but i don't think i am
good luck with it

I thought autozoo did have one, remember reading about that. I never touched my fan. I'd like to remove it and use just the electric one eventually.

So Bill you got one of them 4 cylinder e30s?

That depends which way it's spinning. Since that's an electric I think that's the correct way.

The mechanical fan is inside behind the radiator and you can't see it
