Show me a MotoGP bike using different levers than what is typically offered on the showroom floor. If I ever feel the need to use less than all of my available fingers for a lever, I simply omit placing them on the lever before engaging it. There is no benefit to using 'shorties'.

No chain, no problem.

Should be a fun bike.

shorty levers are less likely to hit the ground in a crash

Meh, That is what the relief cuts are for. When the bike went down, the lever took the hit, saving my mirrors and bar ends. After it was all said in done, the bike was picked back up and ridden home. To some, it'd be preferable to save the levers before other items, so I will give them their credit for that.

I'd rather buy a new set of bar ends than a new set of ASV levers like I have. I'll just deal with the rash though...

although, I don't have bar ends and my bar end mirrors are NOT cheap - CRG Hindsight LS.

Apparently the stock F800ST fork really does suck, but can be 'fixed' with cartridge emulators. I'll have to keep that in mind, should I ever get to buy one

cartridge emulators are better than ordinary damping rods, but still not great

that it is on the right side, however the right side is the incorrect side.

Mine was $180 + some change in FL. The Harley dealers jerk you off for $250 but promise you a free rental on one of their heaps at the end of it
