I like to think about my next project on Monday and Tuesday, then order the parts (ebay, usually) so they arrive latest by Friday. On Saturday, I hit the workshop and make the slingshot.

Sunday is for the video.

As for speed tests, I have a chrony (actually, my third one). Several of my videos up on youtube include the speed data.

This one is a good example:

Jorg, your magazine fed slingshot, I wonder if you did something like mounted the feed tube parallel with the muzzle?

Not unlike a pump paintball marker that you have to rock n cock (tilt the marker back to chamber the paintball, then cock it with the pump handle to "load" it)

The only problem I see would be somehow managing to keep the other ball bearings from falling into the chamber if you move your hand?

My PTXtreme marker has the magazine spring-fed which eliminated the need for rocking.

I'm talkin old school pumps like the sheridans and stuff from punishers customs. 15 round RNC is the way I've played

I have a spring-fed on my cocker but I still enjoy a good RNC game from time to time

How about re-positioning the mag like this?

Use a longer rounded striker, that way there's a greater travel into the barrel. That should improve accuracy.

Maybe add a spring into the hopper, but not a really strong one, so that gravity still allows the ammunition to fall freely into the barrel track, with the neodynium magnet acting as a retainer.

Spring Fed Mag, with a pullback to allow for easy loading.

The track lines up with the pull grip bar, which travels through each side of the tube. Notice the notch at the front of the hopper, to allow for a lock to hold the stopper and spring in a "locked" position for easy loading.

Dominion, very good input. You are right, a lateral magazine would work fine. It would have to be on the underside of the weapon as you can not comfortably grip the dowel if it is on the top.

A longer push-rod would not help, the laws of the elastic collision... the lighter ball gets kicked off with almost twice the speed of the heavy sled, so after the initial contact the rod never touches the ball anymore.

A longer rod would only increase the weight of the sled even further. And it is already fairly heavy.

Jörg

Why not integrate the magazine into the grip?

A longer rod should almost eliminate the collision aspect, that's my point. It would, however, require a full draw.
