I carry a leatherman skeletool. The knife holds a great edge, and you use the pliers more then you would think you will.

a few years ago i bought a real nice Gerber multitool, had the spring loaded pliers, plus all the other stuff, when flipped out locked into place so that the knife didn't have to be held a certain way to cut... it was the best thing i ever bought.

And then my brother borrowed it one day...

Mine's just like that, but I seem to recall the lines in the side extending further. Actually, I must track it down. I left it on my desk at work, and one of the fucking ops people must have moved it/taken it. If I don't get it back, I'm going to be pissed. (everyone that was around when it went missing is only in for drills, so I need to wait until next week when they return)

I have a kershaw leek and i love it. no serrations, clip is reversible.
Opening mechanism is pretty nifty too.

So whats the deal with being able to get an auto knife in Oregon? Is is because Benchmade is in Oregon, due to some BS interstate commerce law? Or is Oregon really that cool?

still hunting for a good closed picture, but the lock is real easy to use with your thumb and the little nub on the back of the blade to assist in opening is perfect. I have the black but i think they make them in a couple colors or whatever.

http://www.kershawknives.com/product...&brand=kershaw

There is a link for a good 360* shot open and a good closed shot. I paid ~70 FYI. I'm sure the internet is much better then that even.

You can buy, own, sell and trade any automatic knife on the market in Oregon. You cannot, however, carry it concealed.

I still advocate Leatherman knifes. I've been using my C33L as a daily knife. The clip is strong as well, and it includes a carabiner/bottle opener.

Whats concealed? I mean, I understand that's up to debate to a degree. I carry my leek on a front pants pocket, but make no attempts to conceal it really. Can you conceal one with a CCW?

Sorry for all the questions, but you seem well informed and I'm sure others are curious.

Concealed means "not readily seen" if a cop wants to be an ass a knife thats half covered by a shirt can be considered concealed. In a pocket its considered concealed also.
Now if its in a pouch on the belt thats not concealed even tho you don't even see the knife.
In Ohio a CCW license only covers handguns,so you can carry a gun but no knife. To make things even stupider Ohio says any knife is illegal if its concealed,no matter of the blade length.
Ive carried my Benchmades and never had an issue,as im told by the local knife shop that as long as you aren't being an ass and creating issues the cops wont bother you about a knife. But id still suspect that if they did see my Auto they would take offense to that.

I really wish we had standard Federal laws so everyone in the country was treated the same as it would make life so much easier. That bill that failed to make a Country wide carry reciprication legal was a big let down imo.
But still Ohio recipricates in like almost 30 states that my ccw permit is valid in.
