BORKED

maybe this means something maybe not... i found it extremely tough to pick an image to rehost and put here... not particularly pleasing from any angle... the back looks good I suppose

paint the red parts black and put the original tail lights back in and maybe.

lol, thanks. No need for jelly...I'm old, saved a while, and my wife loves me and lets me spend our money on frivolous shit. None of this is exactly unachievable. Now if it was a Mclaren 650S, which I'd fucking LOVE to have, then jelly away, lol. That's unlikely to ever happen, though.

Bro a brand new cayman is nice, end of story

Mclarens and 'rarris are like fist sized diamonds. They exist, somewhere, but it doesn't matter in the real of mortals.

Interesting read: guy owns/compares new M3 and his new 911

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1045112

Makes sense, the M3 is after all more of a family car. He can't tell which is faster, but for pure fun seems to like the porch while the M is the better DD.

I would probably agree with that; the M4 I drove was very nice, very fast, and...somehow, not all-together "fun". It was bulky and just felt...meaty. It was a manual, and maybe the auto-rev-matching junk threw me off, but I just could not stomach the car overall. It was fast, but not...sporty. I'm sure I would have loved the M4, but I just think I'll much more enjoy the Cayman. We'll see...they wife will kill me, but I can always trade it, lol. I was thinking of picking up a little Audi A3 in for the winter, but I got a look for that one, lol.

yeah a lot of that crap can probably be turned off, like the interior noise nonsense and the revmatching is probably weird and hard to get used to... A while ago Jehanus was bragging that Nissan was pioneering this technology and how revolutionary it will be, yet I sort of think I wouldn't like it.

How much slower is the cayman vs 911? I would guess it handles even better though.

It's certainly noticeable on paper, but on the street where I'll actually be driving; not so much. Plus, I like the looks of the Cayman better and it is, fortunately, easier on my wallet. I'm not a track-star, and I can admit that. Plus, I'm not looking to race every boy-racer at redlights, so...I can live with the moderate performance of the Cayman. When I do take it to the track, I hope it will be fun enough, but that won't make up the bulk of its duties. So...basically, I'll be "that prick in the Porsche" even though it's not a 911 and pretty much affordable to car-guys who save...but, whatever, lol.

i too like the cayman more, styling, chassis supposedly better, everything really including price but of course would have to drive both to know.

Although stoplight battles are an important part of my car's diet

Lol, then you will likely beat me at every stop light battle.... I'm fine with that. Although, I've received a lot of flak for it -- "why don't you just get a 'vette, pussy" and "oh, come on the M4 is faster, you're paying a lot for a pussy car" lol. But, I breathe deeply and realize that I'm buying a car that appeals to me visually and is fast enough to satisfy my (lack of) talent, lol. Better, when I actually improve my talent, I can strap on a turbo kit and get 470+ hp, and become more than competitive with most on the road. So.... If I wasn't married, I'd also probably get a lot more pussy with the Porsche than say, anything Chevy, but...I only get one pussy from now on, and, luckily, I'm happy with the one I get, lol.

yeah, if I trade my 911 in, I'll probably go for a cayman as well. I still need to test drive one though. and a new 911 too for a proper comparison as my C4S vert is old and generally considered to be one of the crappier 911s.

I mostly don't like it because it is a convertible and I can feel the chassis flex. it's not confidence inspiring even though for a rather crappy porch is it still a pretty good car. If we had just gotten a hard top I probably wouldn't even want to trade it in. I don't need all the fancy foo new electronics and whatnot for what I like to use the car for.

It's the new M3 (Dimensions very similar to the E46 M3)
But yes, it's the new 1M (Though that felt special). A built bottom end N55 w/ higher boost + F80 M3 pieces from the parts bin.

Performance of the 1M was comparable to the E46 M3 CSL but w/o the harshness. This beats those numbers.

I loved how the previous 1 series had matching exterior dimensions to the E36. It was just awfully cramped on the inside w/ all that safety garbage like airbags & shit. The new 3 is the same size as my old 5. Ridiculous.

On paper, this will be great. On smiles per gallon, it doesn't compare imo.
