Gee, put me down for 2 of the kits, I've had a few people ask about them, and I'll give them as gifts.

Clocks still rocking on top of my stove:

Awesome. Clock count is now 5, I'll pull the trigger when the count gets to 8.

I hope you were doing drywall work in your kitchen, or have some other excuse for that dust...

The DC adapter I plan to use doesn't have a dimension for the outer part of the plug - even if the hole is too big, it'll be at the back of the clock and out of sight so it's not a huge issue.

For the switches, I can get another switch that pokes out about 0.15" past the edge of the clock but depending on how the clock gets installed into the cases you're making, that might create its own share of problems. Using a pin/toothpick/etc to poke the switches through holes in the case is perfectly fine.

I do have a crappy prototype clock I could put back together and send your way. Only problem is it uses a different DC jack.
lemme see what tolerances i can do with just the dimensional drawing. Probably wont seriously start looking at it until 5+ orders roll in

Assuming its not too many, ill do the builds for free and ship em to gee who can send em out with the clocks. Gotta have enough requests to justify buying a nice stock of jatoba or mahogany though.

I have one definite commitment (pending final price) for a fully assembled one - still looking for others.

I want one of these, but I have no money right now. How soon were you planning on shipping these out?

Might be a month or more. I still have to see what parts are still available from the old design, finish the design files, order PCBs/parts, etc. This thead is a bit of a feeler to see if it's worth doing.

Question - what color should I make the PCBs?

Green (what I've always done) is cheap, red/blue/yellow/white will add ~$2/clock to the price, black will add ~$4/clock.

So heres the wood options for boxes if people want them. Completely ignore any styling, and just look at the wood/color/grain
Paduak:

Oak

Red Cedar

Mahogany

Figured Maple

Jatoba (the top of the box)

Open to other suggestions as well, but since people will have to nail it down to a consensus, since ill be out a huge amount of cash if i have to buy multiple kinds of wood.
