Help educate me on rifles!

Gentlemen, I have several rifles and shotguns I wish to learn more about.

I was wondering if any of you could post websites you recommend that can educate me on rifle ballistics, bullet sizes, etc. because I am gun 'd

Thanks

The first step to gun education isn't ballistics, bullet sizes, or penetration; the first step is SAFETY!

If you're a complete noob, How Stuff Works does a really good job of showing you the underlying mechanics of everything at work in a gun.

If you're a n00b i suggest taking hunters safety. it will cover a lot about weapons, and safety as mentioned above.

Wikipedia is a great resource for finding internal and external ballistics over a wide area of bullet grains (it isn't quite as detailed as a reloading manual, but it will give you a basic idea...

If you are wanting to have a general idea about trajectory, most ammo companies should have something on their website about how each bullet flies.. i know remington and hornady do.

but yet, safety is the numberr one thing.. Always treat every gun as if it is loaded (EVEN IF YOU KNOW IT ISN'T... EMPTY GUNS ARE THE GUNS THAT WILL KILL). Never point at anything you don't want to kill. Be sure of the target and what is beyond it, never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot,. i could go on forever
