If you want to get a lapdance go find a girlfriend.

But hey, that's just my opinion. It's not based on any religious convictions either.

Seriously, that's not a good argument. Laws should be about protecting people, not you deciding what's right for them.

True but in the act of protecting people, sometimes laws need to tell people what is right and wrong. If anything, we need more deterrents in this country. I say, build prisons in downtowns of cities, not in the outskirts.

so who decides what's right and wrong for the "people" ?
what if you thought somethin was right, yet someone thought it was wrong, would you simply not do it anymore?

So, by what you are saying if I thought murder was wrong yet someone thought it was right, then I should not believe murder is wrong anymore?

Sometimes the people need protection from their own freedoms.

No, because murder is not something that I would assume both parties involed are agreeing to do....

You see two consenting adults that are engaging in sex for money are doing it because they both want to, it's not hurting anyone else.

(talking about non slaved prostituion here, like in the US at a bordello or such).

Eh, I don't really feel strongly about the subject, I was just throwing in an opinion. I just think it is a waste of a person's life to for that kind of job since they can be doing something else AND have sex. It's a harmful profession in its current form, and legalized... well, it's just the kind of job that a girl with no self esteem or education is thrown into, I don't care for that. I think it is exploitative. But I wouldn't actually care if they did legalize it, I just wouldn't agree.

Also, say someone show me how having it legal (IE in nevada, with the bunny ranch and other bordello's) that somehow it's worse off then having it illegal and making them do it all hush hush?

See no evil, hear no evil eh?

Actually now that I really think about it, I can't stand on one leg and say that I like pornography, and on the other say prostitution shouldn't really be legal, so, to hell with it. A wouldn't have a problem with it.

On the other hand I could just say both are wrong, but that would be rather hypocritical of me, even if it was the truth.

Ummm, I think you're thinking of this. John 8

Quote:
1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
7But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
11"No one, sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
Not his girlfriend. It's unclear but assumed that she was a prostitute. He also told her to stop being an adulter (possibly prostitute), he only defended her life.

prostitution should be legalized (controled for prevention of STD spread but legal) If consentin adult can have one night stand sex usualy after a man buying a women drinks at a bar why can't the same man (or woman for that matter) just skip the drinks and pay a prostitute for sex - the socializing of the bar scene...........

not that I would :-) i'ma married man and my live in prositute (god I hope she doesn't see this post lol) takes all my money house car time ect,,,,,,,, and I get laid on a regular basis.

edit: if you didn't understand that the last part was a genmay style joke only then your're in the wrong forum.........
