Combining cell phone with VOIP?

Here's what I'm looking to do, not sure if it's possible:

Have it set up so whenever someone calls my cell phone it rings on my cell and on my computer, and I can answer and make calls from both using the same number.

Is it possible to do this, preferably for free?

Because I'm usually closer to my computer than my phone, more comfortable making/receiving calls from my computer headset; save minutes on the cell phone.

Porting your # with Google Voice costs $20 and cancels your cell phone service. They have some sort of mobile integration with Sprint but I don't have Sprint. Is my best option making a new # with GV and then changing my mobile # to match it?

this - just use your GV # as your 'real number'

i have a friend that does this and it's nearly seamless
