Sweatshop LED lighted arrow nocks, manual on/off. I have bought the expensive ones, there's no point. They fail just as often, have had them DOA out of the box... any convenience is negated as soon as one of them breaks.
Different case for my Dolephone. The one I had required an extreme amount of flexing, pressure to take on and off, was probably hard on the phone.
Stainless ball valve and hose barb to go on my radiator for burping. I removed the blue handle, now just requires a crescent wrench to turn, which is fine, I only have to do it occasionally. Happy to report that the new radiator totally solved my overheating problems!
.001 scale for checking powder loads. I did some test drops with my Hornady dropper, I can't wait to start actually producing ammo.

Frankford Arsenal brass tumbler
I had planned to buy an $80 Harbor Freight tumbler, build a PVC container to go onto it to increase capacity - - this was just simpler and easier, doesn't require any bodging or macgyvering...

This is after four hours. I think next time I need to do about 25% less brass. Total weight of the container was under the 30lb limit, but the ratio of media to water/soaps was off.

Also need to get a sifter to aid in separating media from brass. .

are you doing this more for the sake of it being a hobby or to save money in the long run?

what's the total cost to get started?

pre gunmageddon my cost per round was ~1.23-1.40

post, now that I pay FFL fees to receive or store ammo, plus cali sales tax that is up to like 1.50-160, plus there are websites that just flat out refuse to ship to california because it requires they communicate with local FFL.... so you lose out on discounts.

my 2 types of 6.5 creedmoor are hard to find at retail, and when I do, it's 1.80 cpr

cost per round with the consumables I have on hand now
.3 per bullet
.1 per powder dump
.03 per primer
brass... not sure how to calculate that, im using my once fired hornady/prime brass

for me its mostly just the inconvenience and amount of planning that has to go in to buying ammo in California nowadays. Initial cost of the reloading setup so far... I'll have to add that up. I haven't gone too high end with any of it, and a lot of my stuff is used so I will reach a break even point.

People tend to say reloading isn't done to save money, but none of those people were Californians.

That all makes sense. That's actually not too bad, especially considering the cali aspect of it.

I really regret buying the Hornady Match die set because of the fact I'm supposed to source three 20 dollar bushings, I figure out my correct size, then two of those three bushings just SIT... So then I bought the Lee Ult Precision set. They suck because they need massive amounts of lube, I need to baste it onto my cases and slather it into the sizing die about every 10 pulls. Plus the seating die adds rings to the tops of my unusually shaped bullets. I now own three different FL sizing die, three seating die... I have a special seating stem made for the Hornady die that will prevent the ring from being imprinted on my bullets. I tried out the Lee priming tool last night, it fucking sucks dick and I'm shipping it back to Amazon today. IDK how they have stayed afloat so long selling this trash.

Univ depriming die worked flawlessly, that was a great buy. Having a dedicated die for it saves me an extra tumble + dry. Primer pocket brush is compatible w/ my prep station, I hope it'll do better than the cleaning bit I have now.

gun stuff

priming

completed bullets

39.0x grains functioned perfectly well, so this time I did ~20-40 each of 39.5, 40, 40.25, 40.5... I need to get to the range to figure out what is best.

the maximum safe load according to Hornady is 41

I spent all day Sunday sizing and cleaning all of my once and twice fired brass, I have something like 700 pieces ready to load, then a half a case of factory ammo behind it. I would like to put off using it as long as possible, maybe just bring a box or two as backup.

You can never have too many flashlights. Decided to try some for my head to have my arms free when I'm doing shit.

1000 Lumens for out on the water

400 Lumens for dicking around under cars or around the house

After a couple of days I'm not sure how I ever got along using flashlights. Now I just point my head and it's there, with my hands free to work.

After building out my 30 pound Tacticool AR, all I want now is an ultralight setup. Fuck the ACOG/Flashlight/GripPod/QuadRail shit. I need something I can whip around in a hurry. My gun might as well be mounted on the back of a Jeep

yeah this is going to be a fairly lightweight maneuverable build for things that go bump in the night. I do plan to have a light on it but that's about it

Got a great deal on a radar detector so the Escort 9500ix will be retired.
Got the Max360

And I finally sucked it up and bought another nice watch. After I got my Breitling serviced, it's now entirely too nice to wear every day. My Oris Ti Diver has been great, but I've been jonesing for a nice, Tritium infused watch for wearing day/night for a while. Finally decided to just say fuck it and blow the money. Should be here today or Monday. I'm stoked.

Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Airborne Watch. Half life of 12 years on the Tritium tubes so it should take care of me for quite some time.
