Does my PC take DDR3?

I don't have much information to give you as the computer isn't even here at my house. But what I can say is that it's a Dell. It has an Intel Core2Duo (quad core), 2GB RAM and PCI-E. How can I find out (besides just buing DDR3 and hoping for the best) that this sytem will take DDR3?

I've been out the hardware game for a long.. long..lonnnng time. When I stopped fuckin with hardware an Athlon 2400+ was the SHIT and 500GB of HDD was amazing.

you probably have to at least wait till you see it so you can look at the model number and go on dell's website.

Near impossible to tell without more info...but next time you/the owner is on the computer, download Belarc Advisor to get the MB type and go from there

I can guarantee you it's ddr2. Only 2gb's in it already, core 2 duo, and it's a dell = ddr2.

depends on the models, I installed a optiplex 780 for a client, core2quad with pc3-10600. so they do exist.

however most core2's were ddr2.

edit: or, since it's a dell you can go to their support site and type in the service tag and it'll tell you
