I just bought a henckel pro series (I think it was that series) after trying out all the various top tier store bought knives at a cutlery store and I used my parents cutco knife last night and i'm tempted to return the henckel (a lot) and get a cutco blade instead.

of course you don't need 3k of knives on your counter in a sexy block (so sexy ) give me 6-7 knives and i'd be happy (+ steak knives obviously) just so happens that my preference falls with a few cutco knives over the other store-bought brands

If you're buying them for yourself, seriously, ebay. I picked up a 11" cutco chefs knife for 37 bucks on ebay. I picked up a 7" ceramic chefs knife on ebay for 25 bucks, I have a henckels paring knife and a chefs knife that cost me like 25/90 respectively. A cheap ass stamped steel bread knife that cuts great, and a set of boston cutlery steak knives that were cheap and get the job done.

A couple years from now, you won't be saying the same thing.

Get the Henckels professionally sharpened.

I have a 3-piece set of Henckel's Pro-S. I got them for Christmas almost two years ago. I use the steel religiously and have not had to get them sharpened yet. I can still slice cleanly through a tomato or anything else. I believe the set with steel was ~$130 on ebay, all brand new in packaging (8" chef, 6" utility knife, and 4" paring).

I worked Cutco, hated it with a passion. With that being said, their knives are the shit, and they don't dull as readily. I'd say Cutco FTW, Vector Marketing FTL

Lol, I too sold Cutco.. for about a week.
Felt like such a tool.

But they are nice knives!

EDIT: Last night's new episode of Modern Marvels was about the world's sharpest things; Cutco knives were in there!

They're actually nice knives? WTF? Cutco sounds like the perfect name of a company that would hock its crappy POS products via infomercial

i am the "some attractive girl"...so now i guess there is one on genmay lol. the account finally started working, thanks tongboy for posting the message for me in the mean time .
as far as working for cutco goes, there are some really good people and some manipulative people. it can be a really good job, but its not for everyone. i had to learn to stand up to my managers if they were being manipulative. the reason i am with the company is because i genuinely believe our product is unbeatable in quality and performance, and no other cutlery company stands behind their products the way cutco does with its forever guarantee. i have been thoroughly spoiled by cutco and i could never buy another brand of knife (and luckily, since i own a full set, i won't ever have to. )
