Um...I said I sometimes post things I only want family to know. Or I post things I don't want family to know. That's what the family filter is for.

Or I want to vent about things at work even though I'm friends with people at work....so I don't want anyone at work to know about it should it lead to issues. But there are other things I want work friends to know.

Or if I need to say something very personal and I have only certain means of communicating it, that's what the friends are for over acquaintances.

It's not that I don't want these people on my network, it's just not everything is for everyone.

After a thought about G+ and playing around with it, I really can't be arsed to add people onto a new profile, maybe I'm just lazy but I don't see the appeal with it. It's like a new shiny toy that doesn't provide what the last shiny toy can provide new or different-enough to go through all that effort.

I see Twitter different from FB because it does solely one thing and one thing only, G+ seems to want to do Twitter and FB at the same time adding people that you don't really know and clotting up your "lists" again.

I can't find many people swapping or having another profile that I know of, even on FB there is only 1 person on my list that has been and is now on G+, rest of them have no idea there's even a G+ invite going around and happily just using FB. It's going to get to a point where the people you didn't want on FB will end up being back on G+ on your list because you obviously have to add people as a popularity contest on social network sites.

G+ will probably die slowly like Buzz and Wave did, both I've tried and found it to be cumbersome and complicated when every IM does it better and easier.

Here's a short article by Stephen Fry (words of wisdom to some)

Quote:
Stephen Fry who as we all know likes to tweet a bit, from lifts and elsewhere, and share his views with his 2.7 million Twitter chums, has tweeted his take on Google +, which most of us have had a play with now and the verdict is he is not a fan.

Here’s what he tweeted a little while ago: “The mere thought of grappling with Google+ has exhausted me. Reminds me why I can’t bear Facebook. Seems for good or ill it’s twitter 4 me”.
He has a point (even if he does occasionally come out and say he is quitting Twitter).
Having played for a little yesterday, while I admit like circles and the intuitive nature of it, I can’t get over the fact parts it look and act exactly like Facebook. That is slightly exhausting as I am struggling to see why I (or anyone) wants to go through the whole process again when the differential is so slight.
Next week we are told by Mark Zuckerberg that Facebook is going To “launch something awesome”. Facebook+ anyone?

“He said the project had been developed at the 40-person Seattle office, Facebook’s only major engineering center outside of its Palo Alto, California headquarters.

“There has been speculation in technology blogs in recent weeks about various mobile products in development at Facebook, including the release of a long-awaited Facebook app for Apple Inc’s iPad and a specialized app for photo-sharing on the iPhone,” Reuters reports.
