Log Cabin Republicans: Hope not Fear

I love these guys, Here is their latest ad: http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/hope.html

Direct Link: http://www.pyramid-tech.net/media/logcabin.wmv 1.69MB

Quote:
As our nation's eyes are on New York City for the Republican National Convention, Log Cabin's mission, our courageous delegates and our GOP allies are under intense attack from the radical right. The Republican Party Platform is an outrageous insult to all of us and our families. The platform not only calls for an anti-family Constitutional amendment, but it also opposes civil unions and domestic partnerships. While thousands of courageous gay and lesbian Americans are fighting to win the war on terror, the platform also says, "Homosexuality is incompatible with military service."

Log Cabin has decided to respond immediately to this outrageous platform. We are launching an aggressive counter attack against the radical right which has hijacked the GOP.

"Homosexuality is incompatible with military service."

The Romans would disagree.

"Yea, well you know if you're out marching and Philphillius is taking a bath, sometimes things just "happen" "

I always got a kick out of that. I know the romans were pretty open, but that's just not my thing. (I think it's weird, but whatever floats your boat. No, im not homophobic, I just wouldnt "DO" a dude.)

Edit: I think gay people should be allowed in the military. Why not?

I find it hard to believe that you'd "love" all this:

What we believe

We are loyal Republicans. We believe in low taxes, limited government, strong defense, free markets, personal responsibility, and individual liberty.

The Romans were very severe towards homosexuality in the legions. Marius decorated a soldier who killed an officer - a nephew of Marius - who tried to molest the soldier. Homosexual acts in the legions had a penalty of death by burning - unless someone is far out s&m that is not really tolerance.

If I felt the current republican agenda better reflected the ideals represented in the republican oath I would probably support the republican party. It is the neocon agenda that I disagree with.

I defiantly disagree, it is much easier to understand someone’s tone of voice when you cant hear them.
