Well soon i guess - we're banning plastic bags

why not

too much fucking pollution

tax it more or ban or whatever i support it more or less

best thing to do would be charge people 50 cents for each plastic bag to encourage people to bring their own bags made of fabric

In the glorious motherland you always had to have your own bags. There were no carts either. You didn't buy more than you could carry, there was no costco. Just bakeries, butcher, general stores... there was a lot of walking, and carrying. Now they finally have all that junk following western "customer convenience" model while the west is going to a soviet "efficiency first" style conservation mentality... lols

They were doing this at a grocery store I went to in downtown Seattle. No plastic bags and they charged 10 cents extra for brown bags. I can't remember if the gas station (beer run) used plastic or not.

we'll still have vehicles, carts and get-everything-at-one-stop grocery stores.

Farmer's markets are getting more trendy once again. Also stores like Trader Joes which dno't sell aluminum foil, ziplocks or cigarettes...

im not saying that all merkin conveniences are going away, but we're taking a step back and asking if we really need certain things

Prop 8 set you guys back.

but seriously though, plastic bag bans have been implemented in a bunch of municipalities nationwide over the last 5 years or so. I think cali is still the first to do it statewide.

Yea that was surprising, as were the three very close result weed props that we had. Norcal doesn't vote because they're all stoned, and socal is full of retired military and conservatives San Fran and LA wasn't enough I guess.
