Basic Field Strip of Mosin-Nagant M91/30

1. Here we have my M91/30 with sling attached, which we will dissasemble in order to basically clean it using the teardrop tool.

2. First thing we do is undo the forward sling buckle so we can get the barrel rings off

3. We open the bolt and make sure the weapon is not loaded, then depress the trigger and remove the bolt from the weapon

4. We then unscrew and remove the cleaning rod.

5. Next, slide the first barrel ring forward.

6. Then the second.

7. The wood covering the barrel on top is now loose, so we remove it.

8. We use the teardrop to unscrew the magazine assembly...

9. Then the reciever assembly.

10. We remove the magazine assembly...

11. Then the entire upper assembly, effectively readying the weapon for a basic cleaning.

Might do a walkthrough on bolt dissassembly sometime in the future...

Here is how to field strip a Beretta 92FS, and most other 92/96 series pistols i believe.

Step #1 press magazine release and remove the magazine.

Step #2 press button on the right side of the frame, then rotate the take down lever down and remove the slide assembely.

Step #3 remove the recoild rod and spring.

Step #4 press the button on the back of the barrel to allow the barrel to come free from the slide.

To re-assemble just follow the instructions backwards.

Whelp, here's my first post on genmay. Some may recognize me from [T]. I'm surprised nobody's done an AR15.. Here's mine; it goes past a strict field strip, which would end at step 9. Still, completeness is a virtue.

Goddamn, genmay won't allow enough pics to do a decent job. Anyhow...

To start, pop out both takedown pins. I suggest you pop out the rear one first.

Flipped around. Both receivers separate. The takedown pins are retained in the lower receiver.

Put the lower aside; we're concentrating on the upper receiver. Pull the charging handle to dislodge it and the bolt carrier group.

A closeup of the CH and BCG.

Bolt carrier disassembly begins here. See the firing pin retaining pin? Pull it out. If you've never replaced it in thousands of rounds, you should. Otherwise, you may need pliers or someone else's firing pin to get it out.

With the firing pin retainer removed, the firing pin just slides out. No, my carrier isn't bent; my macro just sucks.

Push the bolt into the carrier. Now rotate the cam pin 90 degrees, then pull it out.

The cam pin removed, the bolt simply pulls out.

Use your firing pin to drive the extractor pin from the bolt.

This is probably as far down as you want to go, without more serious tools.

Cleaning: CLP and rags are your friends. A lot of people overclean; I theorize this has something to do with drill instructors in the past yelling at them to. Don't; more guns get damaged by overcleaning than true wear. Especially on the AR15 design, where many carbon deposits are self-limiting (eg, the bolt face).

Reassembly: Simply go through the above steps in reverse order, up to step 5. The charging handle goes in first. Pull the bolt forward before reinserting the carrier group in the rifle. Pop pins back in, and you have a working rifle.

Guys, I promise I will get better pics up soon. I'm just so anxious to do one of these!

Here is the complete takedown of the Uzi Model B
This is by far the easier takedown I've ever done, no tools required.

The rifle, in her glory. That tool isn't required, it was just in teh case

Nothing in the tube, safe++

Push back this button and unscrew barrel nut / shroud

Slide the barrel out

Push this button...

Then lift this top off

Pull the block back about .5 inch from the front and lift it out.

All parts slide apart. Your takedown is complete.

The gun has 5 parts including the barrel. How simple can it get?

My Springfield XD 9mm.

First, remove the magazine.

Pull back the slide.

Visually inspect for rounds in the chamber.

Rotate locking lever 90 degrees upward.

Gently allow slide to go back to its forward position.

Pull trigger and pull slide forward, remove upper reciever.

Push forward on spring assembly, remove spring assembly from upper reciever.

Like so.

Remove Barrel.

Tada! Done.[/img]

Can someone post a complete breakdown af a 1911-A1? I would do just a field strip but I don't have a camera right now, plus I would like reference pics for when I install my match trigger and beavertail safety and such.

a lot of pistols are made that way. The barrel is angled upwards to make insertion of the cartridge easier.
