So having to prove you're actually a CITIZEN OF THE U.S. to vote in a U.S. ELECTION is considered a war on voting? I guess having to provide identification also violates the rights of voters who like to vote often....at every polling station within driving distance.

By contrast, roughly half of all black and Hispanic residents in Wisconsin do not have a driver's license, and the state staffs barely half as many DMVs as Indiana ќ a quarter of which are open less than one day a month. To make matters worse, Gov. Scott Walker tried to shut down 16 more DMVs
It's hard enough for me to take care of DMV stuff (including just a state ID) and there's a shit ton of DMVs where I live.

So wait...state DMV's only issue licenses to white Republicans now? Or maybe they get sent to the front of the lines while blacks have to wait outside for their name to be called..

No, but however in areas where whites are less prevalent, there's less DMVs around to get one issued. This means having to travel over 1 hour just to get to one......with shortened hours and days, it makes it harder to get one. You can't do it before or after work because they're closed. You can't do it during work because you only have one hour. Weekends are out because they aren't open.

So.....you can't get an ID.

And what about felons who have been released from jail....are they no longer considered citizens?

ITT: you don't understand how voter registration works.

Also, nearly a decade of investigations prompted by non-stop republican bitching and moaning about voter fraud has found that voter fraud is a NON-FUCKING-ISSUE. Out of 300 million votes cast nationwide over nearly a decade they found less than 100 instances of individuals committing "voter fraud" and most of those were resident aliens or felons who didn't realize they had lost their eligibility to vote. You are more likely to get hit by lightning than to cast a fraudulent ballot in the United States.

sorry if this is news to you. I know it's a popular meme that illegal aliens and dead people are filling out the democrat voter rolls. Unfortunately for republicans, a lot of living americans really do still vote democrat.

Voter Fraud is the fraud. It doesn't exist. What really exists and has for some time is republican disenfranchisement of likely democratic voters. This is not a lie, this is not a liberal talking point, these are the facts.

This isn't even new news. If you recall the 2000 election, one of the issues that got overshadowed by floridas incompetence and the supreme court ruling was that florida hired a special agency to cull 20,000 voters from their voter registration before the election. We found out later that 90% of those removed from the voter registration by the republicans in florida were minorities. Minorities who usually vote overwhelmingly for democrats.

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/f...ile/print.html

and they didn't just do it in 2000:

You know what? I don't want everyone to vote either. If everyone voted then a large percentage of the votes would be from people who have no fucking clue about the candidates or issues, and just voting how their family/friends/pop culture tells them they should or the straight ticket . Not wanting everyone to vote is NOT the same as not wanting everyone to have the right to vote....but I can see the confusion.

I'd say about 1% of the US population votes based on the candidates or issues, the rest either vote based off of whatever Fox News or huffington post tells them to.

So republicans don't want to take away your right to vote, they just want to disenfranchise the people who they think are likely to make stupid votes by making it as hard as possible for those people to actually cast a vote?

well then, I guess it's all perfectly innocent. move along folks, nothing to see here...

And that's the people that should voluntarily stay home on voting day. I rarely ever vote for local elections (city related) because I wouldn't have a clue what I was or wasn't voting for..
