What do you guys think of the XD(M)?

http://www.the-m-factor.com/

I'm thinking of trading my XD 9mm in for a XD(M) 9mm at the local gun store. Would cost about $300 to upgrade.

I have an XD(m) 40 and I love it. Haven't had any problems in almost 2000 rounds.

That seems a bit steep to me, dunno if the upgrades are really worth that much.

its just a bit redesigned version of the XD, not an "upgrade" per se, but a different flavor. The biggest difference you will notice is that the M will have a few more shots than your regular XD.

I like it, but I also like the regular version as well. The biggest reason I would probably pick one up someday, is with a trigger job and new sights, coupled with its really high mag capacity, that thing is competition ready, and would make a nice upgrade with those changes vs my XD-45, but then again, i like my .45....decisions, decisions...lol

and $300 difference?

I can get an XDM, either caliber for $100 more than a regular one. Assuming an XDM-9 is ~$600, and unless your XD is completely unmaintained and works like crap, its worth more than $300. I wouldn't go over $200 maximum, Id probly even try to talk them down to $100.

My XD is like new, under 100 rounds. Guess I will check gun broker and see how much I can sell it for there.

I don't see a point in the upgrade really. I got my XD sub 9 after the XDM came out. It was nice because the regular XD price went down slightly.

Can't see a point in upgrading.... explain why you would? What feature is so sweet you'd upgrade? The backstrap is the only thing I like... but my xd 9 sub back strap is perfect?

edit: Pulled from another site, here are the differences.

1. the XDM has a better quality match grade barrel (more accurate)
2. you can change the back strap on the grip for variation in grip size
3. has better recoil system (heavy duty guide rod spring)
4. has striker status indicator (to verify weapon is cocked)- may have this on origional XD, but not certain
5. has a MRT (minimal reset trigger) similar to sig's SRT (short reset trigger)- this is a great improvement for follow up shots.
6. deeper, longer slide grasp serrations for grip
7. more texture on polymer frame for better grip and control.
8. 16 rd. mag vs. 12 rds in the origional service model XD .40

Ok so the barrel sounds nice.... My XD 9 sub with a regular XD magazine is 16+1
