Should I be prepared to do some fitting if I bought a cheap kit or would I have to really try to find something that rough?

The problems usually occur with under/oversized hammer and trigger pins.

I've never run into it personally, but it does happen. I wouldn't worry about though.

Just stay away from Vulcan/Hesse/Blackthorne and you should be good.

Wood, wood, wood. Would you please get that penis out of my butt?

That's a good poem.

Much more appropriate for plinking/training than $400-450 for brass case XM193...

You might also consider Hornady training ammo. I fired off a couple hundred rounds yesterday with no problems at all, and at zero-range I could print dime-sized groups.

Are they steel cased? I am having second thoughts on using steel cased ammo, since I found some wear in the back of the ejection port....

I bought a Blackthorne Barrel and Upper Receiver, they are both quality items. They swear their uppers are made by LMT. I have no regrets about buying my Barrel and Upper from them, both peices also have very nice finishes.

Now... I would probably never buy a bolt carrier assembly from them, as the Bolt Assembly is the heart and soul of an AR and you do NOT want to skimp on that part. But you cant really screw up an Upper and a Barrel, even if you are Chinese.

Is there any shame in buying an AR15 and not building one yourself? I would love to get one (been shooting a friends), but don't trust myself to do a quality build.
None. Unless your name is Colt, then you should build your own.
Which brings me to my next point. Buy Colt or go home
Well of course that's not the end all, but if you can, buy Colt, do it.

How about quit having a defeatist attitude and fight for your rights as an American. You're not doing anything by stocking up and waiting for a ban. Write your congressperson now.

edit: Oh, and Colt or LMT.
