Figured I'd throw out an update here.

Shortly after receiving the part from fierloki, I discovered it wasn't as simple as a PCB swap. SMART on the target drive must have made a bunch of changes before the PCB fried out so I would have to do a little soldering to make it work. The good news is the upcoming how to will be a lot more in depth.

When I finally found the time (last night) to sit down and get to work, I discovered my soldering braid just wasn't cutting it on those small leads so I'll have to run out to radioshack for one of those sucker things. My iron could use a new tip so I'll grab one of those and do it up right. I'll probably do that this weekend.
