Motor Trend's $1.5 million Drag Race.

Came across an interesting video this morning.

Not a very scientific test, but I wasn't too surprised that  Skynet won the race.

That was pretty awesome. By no means scientific but fun to watch. And it was odd that they picked the everyday z06 over the zr1, either way I don't think the zr1 would have won either. But then again I don't know if there were better versions of the porches or bmw's out there.

as far as i can tell, that was top of the heap for everything except the Corvette. With an extra 150hp, and less weight... i dunno, the ZR1 might have won.

Makes sense, kinda that it was not there.

Recall what the guy said in the beginning of the video......took a lot of time and effort to get the cars.....maybe GM or a local dealer was being a douche about loaning out a zr1 lol

Just might not have been one available. Not like every dealership has one, and i'm sure GM doesnt have 600 of them just waiting to be test driven for magazines.

That is not guaranteed against the 2011 GT-R which is also a low 11 second car.
Dont worry the Z06 had the fastest lap time with its "optional barely street-legal race-compound tires".

Not a Vette fanboy, but it is kinda odd that an American auto mag was able to assemble an assortment of top end European/Japanese cars, yet weren't able to secure a ZR1.

I will say that is the 'est drag race I've ever seen though...even if it's not the best way to be 100% accurate.

Gm probably refused it to be tested because they don't want risk it to be embarrassed by the other cars. I'm thinking it's in the same vein of how the companies refused allowing the cars to be damaged in the video games

i highly doubt that. they've let the zr1 be tested all over the place.

and how could it be embarrassed? the z06 wasnt that far off from the top, and the ZR1 is quite a bit faster than the Z06...
