^^Obviously the dumb bitch in the cages fault. But I would NEVER accelerate past a car that has nearly slowed to a stop, and is indicating for a turn, even if they are in the right lane. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.

Thinking of jumping on this, maybe nig him down about $300-400.

Looks pretty clean especially with only 500 miles on it.

Didnt you already have a bike once?

If anything, look for a 500. Ducati monster 620 can be had for cheap as hell too and will be a lot more fun.

No...so many close maybes' and such but never a hard deal. I passed my course about 2 years back but haven't touched one since(well I have but nothing more than a short blip of a ride).

Kinda apprehensive about something bigger that & I dunno I like something that revs to 13,000rpm

ohai guys, I'm finally in the club now

2012 CBR250R, non-ABS. Bought her brand new a few weeks ago. Absolutely love it so far, a lot more than the Ninja 250 I compared it with. It may not rev as high or have quite as much top-end, but the nicer torque curve, easier around town ride-ability, and technological advantages it has won me over.

I had never really ridden anything but 4-wheelers and scooters before this, so it's been quite a learning experience. I took the MSF course over last weekend and learned a lot of good techniques (only got 1 point off on the exam for stopping a foot later than I should've in the quick stop). I have to say that riding around on a bike is probably the most amazing thing I've done with my pants still on.

Wrecked on the vfr. Making a left through an intersection, saw an ambulance coming straight at me. Went to avoid it, hit a gravel patch and went down. I'm fucked up. Bruises all over missing half the skin on my left forearm. Bike is fucked, helmet is fucked. Oh and the best part is my wife was following me, her, a witness, and the entire ambulance crew all said I hit gravel, and was attempting to act responsibly, yet was attempted to be issued a ticked, I told the cop to piss off or I and my 6 witnesses would all be able to testify to the gravel in the road and their little shitty town would have no money left after I sued. Well he didn't write me a ticket

An hour later after I bandaged myself up, went back with my wife to take pics of the gravel and of course it was all swept clean.

Sold the wrecked vfr for 900 dollars to some azn

Then Thursday I picked up my ninja 650...

Seriously been wanting to get off the vfr just to powerful, (dyno @ 110 whp, fucking tuned and modded to the t.)

Really like not having that much power and the seating position is much more comfertable.

Long time lurker reporting in!
I'm currently living in France within sight of the pyrenees so riding a bike suddently makes a lot more sense than it did in the UK.. I booked some training and set off last month, started with the CBT on the 5th on a little yamaha 125 then moved on to an XJ6 for the direct access training. My first test was on the 10th, sadly I failed first time (1kph too slow on the swerve test!) but got it on the 2nd try, 2nd test was on the 18th which I passed first time!
In 13 days I'd gone from never having ridden a bike on the roads (done some MX) to having a full license, being able to ride any bike legally. On the afternoon of the final test I went to look at a bike and ended up putting a deposit on it... it was the right colour and oh so shiny:

Next step was to get back to France... a mere 1000 miles. I loaded the bike up, got various spares and tools and set off!

Happily I didn't need any of the spares etc, it all went smoothly, took 4 days over it with the longest being day 3, 300 miles. Got rained on slighty on the first day which the speedo didn't seem to enjoy but I stayed dry & upright.
All in all it's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I can't wait to get some more miles in... she needs a good wash first though! I've got a friend who's done lots of advanced training and instruction so he's going to take me out for a week and hopefully teach me how not to die!
So, thank you automay for all the advice contained within this thread and if anyone else is thinking about doing similar, go for it, it's not as scary as you (I?) think
