Galactic Civilizations II on sale for $2 - is it any good?

Stardock/Impulse has Galactic Civilizations II on sale today for $2!

http://www.stardock.com/media/mailers/GCII.htm

I bought it, but how is it? It's gotta be worth at least $2 right?

You can't seriously complain about getting a game like that for $2.

On a similiar Stardock note, what 2d game did they create where there were like 3-4 different races. And I know that there was a Drengin race whos ships were green.

No, it was 2d. And from a number of years ago. And I remember there were starbases to dock at. And you controlled your own ship manually. There were many keyboard shortcuts.

I remember running a server many years back. I was able to easily edit config files to make certain ships as strong as I wanted.
