Recommend me an exfoliant

I need a new one, any ideas?

One of my exes had a really good one, the consistency was that of fine wet clay/sand. Anyone know of one similar? I'm willing to pay a fair bit for something that leaves my skin smooth and free of dirt/blackheads.

Yea, I'm a guy. A metro guy.

Nivea makes this exfoliating facewash that I find pretty decent.

The apricot scrub is popular, but I don't recommend it. The ground up apricot pits are jagged and will tear up your skin in the long run (this will negatively effect your skin's texture and smoothness). Use something with a finer more uniform grit. Microcrystals (hydrated silica) are good, and so are jojoba beads. I used to love the St Ives stuff because it smells nice and leaves your skin feeling soft, but my dermatologist was appalled.

St Ives makes a new scrub that's pretty effective. It's in a opaque blue tube and has ice cubes on the label. Or you can buy jojoba beads and mix with honey for a DYI. Another DYI option that works brilliantly is the aspirin mask. (this will also help with blackheads, oiliness, and redness). basic recipe is finely ground uncoated aspirin mixed with water, honey, or plain yogurt and applied as a mask for 5-30 minutes and rinsed off. When rinsing off, rub in a circular motion to get exfoliation.
