Wait, so I'm still confused.

The original post says it has AWD; then he says it doesn't have AWD.

I wasn't aware the Sport came with AWD.

That being said, I really like the look of the new Fusion. I rent cars almost bi-weekly, and every time I book a mid/fullsize I hope to get either the new Fusion or a new Taurus; no luck with either so far. Hopefully they give me one instead of a Charger tomorrow morning.

Congrats; the car looks great. Also, tint those windows and get rid of that rubber shit on the doorlines.

Get rid of the Taurus yet?

Bullitts are awesome cars, I've heard they might be doing another version with the new stang soon.

My wife's got the '09 Fusion, metallic silver, V6, auto, Sync without touch screen. We gave about $24k I think, traded the '07 stang v6 vert. She regrets that some, but the Fusion is an awesome car, we've taken it on a couple road trips, I've taken it to south Texas, and recently we went to east Texas for the grandson's birthday, and on the run back, we got 28mpg on country two-lanes at between 55 and 75-ish, and all those bumfuck little towns that like to squat on those roads.

They are truly excellent cars, handle great, ride well, and are very comfy. The ONLY problem we've had was the positive battery terminal corroded, and the dealer didn't fix it right the first time; the next day they jumped thru flaming hoops into a pool full of double-edged razor blades to get the car and make it right, right down to towing the car, picking her up from work, giving her a loaner, and delivering the car to her the next day.

And those V6 motors are stout, strong, and efficient, possibly one of the best V6's I've ever seen.

Good job, bro.

My MIL bought a new Escape and it has some shotty interior bits but all in all it isn't bad. 23 mpg average isn't bad for it's size either. Thinking I might find a Mazda Tribute as a beater 4WD/5sp for the winter months here if I am driving around in a Saturn SL2 which is possible.

sorry about that... I felt like a train hit me yesterday. I was trying to say what options I did NOT have, which was "Only options I know of off hand is AWD, and a few really minor things that escape me. " I figured out that it was the lighted Fusion doorsills and aluminum pedal covers that we did not have.

Yeah this dealer puts a lot of stuff on the cars. During the purchasing they took it and removed the pinstrips and rear dealer logo from the car. It looked TONS better. For the door strips and strips around the fenders we were going to think about it... but we're leaning towards removing them all now.

I sold it to my step dads boss. He had 2 in highshool, and wanted to have one again. The neat thing is he wanted to basically build it EXACTLY how I was! So it's going to be fininshed with the 5.0EFI, 5speed, basic suspension and brake mods. Although I was considering pulling the 5.0 back out and building a carbed solid lifter motor again, as it was just to damn much fun. I have the 01 B for comfort.
Nevertheless, I really didn't know when I would ACTUALLY get to building it, we only have a a 2 car garage and I am not looking to get rid of the B, it also isn't fair to kick the wife out of the garage she is also paying for (especially with the new car now), additional support came from the show American Pickers where people were giving up things they had for a long time for others people to enjoy, so in the end I felt it was best. I asked for first dibs though if he ever sells it

Thanks guys..... funny thing is we were negotiating on a silver one. A guy that looked at it the previous day came back in and wanted it. They sorta gave it back to him, since he offered more then we did. The dealer then gave us the option of this one, but for only a small amount more. In the end we couldn't be happier as my wife loves white... plus we got nav, power passenger seat, backup cam, and mirrors that let you know when a car is beside you.

Did you want a brand new car? Just throwing it out there that you could have bought a Tarus sho with about 10-20k miles.....still under warranty and same options and it would have awd.

But I understand if you actually wanted a new, new car.

I've got a buddy with the previous generation Fusion and as far as I know he loves it.

As far as the bumper trim goes, loose it stat! Car will look 100% better without them. They're bad enough where they almost blend in along the wheel arches, but they totally kill the lines of the car at the doors.

I did not, but the wife did want one. We're usually on the same page, but I could not get her to budge on this one. It will be a learning experience for her, and for myself.... probably won't ever do it again though. It helped me out to be persuaded with the Sport version, and 0% interest, and being nicely optioned. The thing for me is, IF I am going to spend the money, it damn well be what I really want.

Yeah I think we will do that very soon.

Well I can respect that. We should park the Mazda in the garage but it is full of junk right now. The Rabbit was always in there though.

I watch that show too, amazing what gets lost in time. At least you get to see it being completed.

Edit: Ya that fender guard looks like trash, that invisible bra stuff will do the same job and look like it isn't even there.

Wife is liking it for protection.

I'll give her some time for the newness to start wearing off, and then I'll re-approach her
