US cars only started selling in the last few years on volume so this is an import like all US cars on that vintage and older would be. I realise it's nothing unusual in the US, but to see a Yank Tank like this in the UK is a real head turner.

You mean left hand drive U.S. cars? Ford, GM and Chrysler have been selling in the UK almost as long as in the U.S...

Anyway, does it look something like this?

You'll need to tint the windows @5%, add hydraulics and dubs for the full gangsta effect..

That's a bit less gansta, but probably better for rolling over all the tiny little Fiat and Peugot tin cans scurrying around England.

Yea, identical to that in really good condition. It's a left side drive import. Yea, little Fords we've had for ages in the UK but it's only recently Cadillacs, Dodges and other big name US vehicales seem to have taken off over here.

What do you think fellas, insurance seems to be around Б2300 a year on a vehicle costing Б3k. Expensive but I can afford it. Needs a good think.

The sedan. In as good a condition as the previous coupe. Same colour too.

Take a look at this one; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1976-Buick...item415e280a42

A bit older and a whole lot more gangster and oddly enough the insurance would be similar. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, now we're getting somewhere. I'll admit that I've only been to the UK once, but something like that seems like it would be a pain in the ass on the narrow streets, and nearly impossible to park over there without taking up two spaces. Hell, I live in the land of wide open spaces (Texas) and there are still urban areas that would make that thing seem too big..

Taking all that smog crap off and some simple modifications can cure that.

Not really.

Loooooong stroke motors don't really make that much HP. They'll make torque all day long, though.

Torque is all you need for a big boat like that, and freeing up the breathing with more modern smog equipment/exhaust will make it feel much better. It's not like you're going to take a land barge to the track for some high speed runs..

I have a friend (former employer) with a 400 tri-power poncho in a '66 GTO, and while he makes about 240HP, he'll run 12s at the strip all day long.

Could probably fit a couple more if you have a wood chipper...
