Best ATI Video card for $160-$200?

I am looking at cards to buy on www.newegg.com . I definitely want an ATI (GTFO nVidia ). My main options in that price range I saw were: 9800 Pro, X600, X700pro, and 9600XT. I am not sure of what other options there are, but feel free to introduce any new ones! If you had $160-200 to spend on a new card at newegg.. what would you get?

I'm an ati fan my self, but swallowed my ati pride and bought a 6600GT.
Nothing better for 200 dollers.
Ati has no equiv for the 6600GT, the X800 that was supposed to have 128MB and be ~200 has turned out to be a 256 X800 that's going for 265, so you're only logical options is the 6600GT.
The 9800 pro is old stuff man, even the 9800 xt(256MB) gets worked by the 6600GT, so why do you wan't an ati card
For the midrange, nvidia won this round.

this man is right.

ATI is like alienware. kicks ass but you're going to wind up paying more than you have to for the same performance

Flash to 9800XT. How that's done, ask someone else.

Going ATI in the $200 range is a bad choice, they don't have anything better than the 6600GT for that price I've always been a fan of ATI, but I went this way and i'm happy with it.

That is a good deal cheaper, but keep in mind nvidia has some dirty deals with game companies, making only a SM1 path(dx8) and SM3(DX9C) so I wouldn't plan on keeping that card for very long.
I'd only keep it untill the new generation parts come out.
The general feeling is that ati's part is going to beat nvidias next part.

If you absolutely MUST buy ATI, save up about $275 and buy the x800xl, it's going to be a much better investment. There is no reason to buy a 9800 pro this late in the game.

If they hadn't insisted on putting 256MB on it, it might have been a good product for the price.
Seriously, you shouldn't let brand loyalty get in the way of getting a superior product.
