ingrown chest hair, how do i fix this?

it seems i have some small bumps on my chest and because i'm so pale/light skinned, you can see that it's probably ingrown chest hair that's causing the bump. it's not visiibly noticeable unless i arched my back and the light casts shadows, they're not really large bumps. i can't "pop" them because they're deep, i've tried exfoliating my chest and scrubbing hard with the AXE loofah/scrubber during my showers, but that hasn't done anything. Is this something i'd have to see a dermatologist for?

i get these occasionally myself. hate em! i find that tea tree oil helps them go away quite a bit quicker. i haven't gone to a dermatologist for it but i guess you could if you wanted!

its not like i shaved my chest or anything, i'm asian so there's not much hair there. i've had the same amount of ingrown hair on my chest (first noticeable back in janurary when a girl mentioned it ) so it's not like i'm getting more. i guess using tea tree oil wouldn't hurt. i'm starting to exercise soon, maybe that'll help open up the pores?

Whenever I have an ingrown hair I just lance it/dig it out.

Does it look like any of these photos?

If so, it might be a very common condition called keratosis pilaris. Its really just a cosmetic condition, there are some treatments for it but most are generally ineffective. More info at wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris

Same. I have a lot of chest hair and sometimes they get painful so I just remove the hair with a needle.

nope, nothing like that. a few times i would be able to pop them out, and pus and very fine hair would emerge, but a few are hidden deeper.
