how did that tuner work out for you

it was totally unnecessary, but it was definitely a noticeable change and it put some wiggle in the butt that wasn't there before. Since I put it in I've chirped the tires a couple of times unintentionally

Contemplating a bad decision:

It was a lot of fun to drive, impressed me more than any Miata I've driven before.

Working on the timing belt and front oil seals on my Mazdaspeed yesterday, I went to remove the crankshaft cam pulley, and heard a "clunk" sound.

Closer investigation reveals that I can move the crankshaft back and forth just enough to be perceptible, and produce an audible clunk noise with my hands, if I put the bolt back in and use it as a handle.

Faaaaaaack...

I still haven't read a non-sponsored review gushing with BS

is it more like the original Miata, or is it an improved "new" Miata? (if you get what im asking)

Yea, R&T favored it but it is assumed that they are pocketed. Randy Pobst, test driver for R&T and professional racer was very-positive in his notes and I think he is a bit more honest than the editorial staff.

I really enjoyed it but the test drive was short and I didn't get to push the car in any turns, only straight line. I was impressed with the power, weight and interior quality. The problem I'm having is finding any information comparing the handling of the Sport/GT suspension against the Club (Bilstein) suspension. The latter you assume to be better but is it really? I wasn't interested in a convertible, my drive is to have a car I can drive everyday that is fun. At present I drive the Fiat daily due to the small size and the BMW gets occasional driving when I have somewhere non-work-related to be. The Miata is a short wheelbase car that is reasonably quick, still RWD and could possibly sit neatly in place of both the Fiat and the BMW.

By all accounts it feels like an S2000 that you can actually live with on a daily basis. The S2k will be faster and better on a track but the peaky powerband takes the fun out of it when dealing with traffic. I drove a Sport but fancy the idea of a Club due to the LSD.

About $3k

For the price you get quite a bit
17" wheels + Bridgestone S0001 tires
Bilstein dampers + Different springs
Forward chassis brace (triangulated at the cowl and shock towers)
Helical (TORSEN) LSD
Upper door cards are color matched to body color
Leather dash and door panels with red-stitching
Red-stitched seats
MazdaCONNECT Infotainment/Navigation
Bose audio
Front lip spoiler
Rear lip spoiler
Blacked-out mirror caps

The interior upgrades are welcomed since they don't really add any weight and are quite a bit nicer, but the LSD is what peaks my interest.

Maybe a little expensive... I mean that infotainment system is going to be obnoxious, and I remember reading that those Bose systems (specifically in earlier miatas) were a PITA to deal with, similar issue w/ BMW's and HK systems.

otoh, it's the one people will pay a premium for, and hold out for when you go to sell it

did this new "skyactiv" platform nullify any preexisting aftermarket LSD options?
