Nose is always incredibly dry...

Ever since I took accutane about 5 years ago my nose has taken a beating. I keep sniffling out of habbit, blowing it in hopes of it lubricating, etc.. No matter what, my nose just remains dry all day. The problem is that I can FEEL it and that's what annoying me into sniffling constantly. Also if I breathe in and out of my nose, often times it will give a small whistle. It's all very annoying. I can put something in it like Polysporin and it works, the problem is doing it 3 times a day is ridiculously annoying - in addition to just odd if anyone else ever saw it. Any ideas what to do genmay?

edit: I thought about this but didn't post it. Is it possible after the accutane days of nosebleed dryness, that I'm just addicted to the feeling? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...9174638AA7mSeX

The only thing I've done for dry nasal passages is saline spray.

Vaseline. Very little, just to protect and moisturize.

Trust me.

I've been using Polysporin which is the same effect of lubricating / moisturizing. My problem is that I have to keep doing it (3-4 times a day). I just think it's way too annoying. Imagine explaining to a friend or significant other that you have to put shit up your nose all day.

Use a neti pot. If you've never used one they're strange at first but they lubricate your sinuses and gets out stuff like allergens. Also try a humidifier in your bedroom/house. I have forced hot air heat in the winter and my nose always gets so dry to the point of bleeding so I always have a humidifier going.

If moisturizing your nose doesn't annoy you then it should be fine. Sure our friends/SO might be all at first but then they'll get it.

oooo tried some petroleum jelly, works just as great if not better than polysporin. Difference is I can get a huge tub of Vaseline for $1 whereas a tiny squeeze tube of Polysporin is $6. Thanks!

I'll also take the advice of a humidifier too. I'm just annoyed it's something I have to do every single day. Guess I better start getting used to it.
