it seems disjointed and broken. More of a tech demo than a game...

Looks like a whole bunch of painstaking details with no unified direction.

it takes a bit to get comfortable in the game, but i think it holds promise.

with the environments constantly evolving, there's a genuine sense of exploration. i think my favorite thing to do is equip binoculars and a config tool and go exploring for cable relays to set up transportation lines.

the environment follows rules but isn't designed like in other games, so it feels a lot like real nature. there'll be a place i want to get to, and for all i know there's no possible route, but there's a decent chance i could make one using cable relays and a lot of exploration to find the right angle of approach. there's a good sense of accomplishment when you finally get yourself to the top of a huge isolated spire and grab the token -- equally rewarding is getting that token back to base without dying/getting lost.

right now i think my biggest complaint with the game is how your base just goes poof when an enemy destroys it. there doesn't seem to be any in-between -- either you stop the enemy or your settlement is gone. settlements rise and fall throughout the day. i'd like to see settlements survive for days, and perhaps they will with more people logged on.

human tribes VS environment/AI. humans build a settlement. some stay to defend settlement or build up 'natural' defenses like walls.

the others go exploring for tokens -- bringing these tokens back to the base lets you build more complex settlements. some tokens allow aesthetic building tools to make your base more refined. some tokens allow players to equip themselves with better weapons and equipment. tokens can be found in the wild or can be taken from AI settlements.

the world also has cable relays, which can be configured (using configure tool, attained from configure tool token). by plugging in the coordinates of one cable relay into another with direct line of sight, you form a connection and can ride it -- connecting many cable relays can give you a way to travel around the world easily. teleporters work similarly.

there's also power wells -- things around the world that spit out energy. you can configure them to direct their power at power reflectors and, similar to cable relays, create a power network around the world. you want to redirect it to your base so you can power turrets and other more advanced infrastructure.
