The Witcher 2 Official thread.

Anyone else excited for this game? IT comes out tomorrow.

You can pre-load it via gog (only version DRM free completely, other places, even steam, use Securom, thx to Atari).

Game unlocks midnight for retail copies and D2D. Unlocks at 12noon for steam tomorrow (Est).

I never finished the first one unfortuantely, but its a very impressive very deep RPG. I have high hopes.

The company is amazing, they were unhappy with the first retail version of The Witcher 1, so they remade the entire game, putting 10 or 12 months into it, and gave it away for free. And the first release was still a great game, with the "enhanced edition" only making it better.

Just messed around with it for a bit, looks great. Ive made the strategic decision to go back and finish the first one first though. Seems theres a lot of building off of it.

So far this game is amazing.

Not even 5 minute sinto the game and you got nudity lol, but it is tasteful and makes sense story-wise.

The performance is quite good for me on my mid system c2d 3.4ghz/5850/4gb ram. I can run at most high settings but ubersampling off (That is suppppper taxing on systems and one of the reasons it'll be a good benchmark game).

I'm not that far in but overall lthe quality of the game easily surpasses any recent rpg, especially Dragon Age 2 and others.

BTW your Witcher I saves do carry over to this game. If you don't have them anymore you can just google for some saves and find one youlike.

Personally I went with the Neutral path/Triss save (since neutral is how Geralt would actaully do most things in the books, and Triss is the major character in this one).

You can find one here in this thread (the second file listed down)
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witc...ve_games/page1

It also carries over your armor/weapons from the last game, so you have the Raven Armor and things, which is neat.

Does the 1st one have any sort of effect on the 2nd one?

Yes, you can import your save game to the second and various choices affect thing sin it.

Not to mention armor/weapons can carry over (Raven armour form the first and the last silver sword/steel sword).

Lmao, did anyone else get this easter egg near the start of the game? In the assault part of the prologue, it was a bit behind something that many people probably didn't go to (since there's no reason to go there).

What game has a guy dressed in white with a red sash that constantly has you jumping into hay filled wagons? .

Just finished it and my only real complaint is that the game is pretty short; the first one is easily three times longer than the second.

The game has 40+ hours worth of content, just slighty shorter then the first one but it has more replayability with branching things.

Did you just rush through the main quest and do no side quest/exploring?

I did all the side quests except for a few of the monster bounty quests, and I got about 25 hours out of it (the third chapter is a joke tbh, the main quests took like 2 hours). I easily got ~80 hours out of the first one. The game itself is really good, it just felt like it was fairly short compared to the first one, and even DA2.
