you could ride a cruiser no problem. But it might not go anywhere if its smaller than a 750

Why don't people list the Buell Blast as a good beginner bike (or does it just plain not fall into that category)?

I think it gets the beginner part down, but it just sucks as a bike.

It falls apart. Like literally falls to pieces. Harley had a string of lawsuits against them for this very issue (which they settled out of court, I believe). Just google "buell blast reliability"

I'm looking to get a bike, but it needs to be able to get my 225lb ass plus a backpack of books to school on the freeway at ~75MPH. My friend has a Honda Shadow 750 and he says it gets really bad on gas and is working way to hard at 70MPH+. What should I get?

Also, who makes nice helmets aside from Shoei?

Yea...that doesn't look like fun on a freeway.

BTW, I'm leaning more towards a cruiser or maybe a standard right now. Don't want to pay insurance on a sport bike either.

ive been riding an 83 magna 750 for a while, but the "naked bike" look has really started to grow on me. I recently sold the magna and now i have narrowed my next purchase down too 2 bikes.

triumph speed 4

honda 599

i have read multiple online reviews but it hasnt seemed to help me in my judgement, i would like to hear genmays opinion

Why's that? I can pull a good 100mph if I want, and it cruises fine at 75mph.

Starting to save up for my beginner. Going to buy one during the off season (should be cheaper right?). Planning on getting a naked SV650 or a 599 (Is the 599 a sportbike according to insurance?).
