Gift card to a sporting store, what would help me

40 dollar card to dicks sporting goods. Been loosing weight for awhie, pretty much just running every day and some weights, all i have is 2 40lbs hand weights.

So im looking for something to help me out some more. I was thinking a speed bag, medicine ball, or a bench to use in conjunction with my hand weights. Although for right now im more concerned with dropping pounds then adding muscle.

Ive got a ipod nano i use while im running.

what are your goals, what are your stats (weight, height, how long been exercising, diet, age, gender)

6'5. 320lbs, been running for about 3 months now so my cardio is alot better then what it was, 28yrs old. Male.

I love to get around 250, my goal is i want to live to be an old man lol, one day i hope to be able to jog 4 miles non stop. im up to 2 lol

you didn't post your diet.

a membership to a gym would do you wonders -- full free weights...

can you do a pullup? if so, a home pull-up bar (one that fits into your doorframe - not screwed in or anything, just sits on top of it) would be good - though you weigh 20 lbs too much for it right now.

what would help you most:
a) better diet (calories in < calories out)
b) HIIT (high intensity interval training - google if you don't know it)

diet is definitely not what it should be. I work for a chain of restaurants and food is free, you can figure the rest.. for awhile i would eat a grilled chicken sandwich and a small bowl of chilli + dt pepsi.. but gave it up cause it was playing hell with my stomach.

there is really nothing there last is healthy in any stretch of the imagination. Cut out all the sodas, all im left with is water and dt. pepsi

I haven't ran in a week or so, i hurt my back at work and i can barely jog 10 steps without feeling like lower back/ass/upper theigh area is on fire. But i can walk fast without much pain so i did that today (2 miles)

if you do not get your diet in line, you will fail. caloric intake must be less than caloric output for you to lose weight. taper carbs from morning to night (more in morning, none before you go to sleep). HIIT in the morning, steady state (jogging at the same pace, e.g.) in the evening. try www.fitday.com (free account) to monitor your diet for a month. everyone sucks at guesstimating how many calories/what nutrients are in food.

the above is a must for you to lose weight healthily. (you could do different exercise, yes, but the dieting part is a must).

additionally, no soda, water's fine/good for you. cut out high fructose corn syrup from your diet.
