And to answer your question directly, I calculated numbers from my 5 rep set, not 1 Rep Max.

A lot more than what you're doing unfortunately. Those competitions have guys lifting 3 times their BW for things. I mean you can enter them, but I wouldn't go in expecting first place no matter where you went.

I figured as much and it wouldn't be until end of the year/beginning of next year before I considered it. I'm sure I wouldn't hit first but I'd like to do it more for the experience and to watch others who have perfected the art of power lifting and learn from them. Also, I love competition so I feel it would push me harder

Then by all means do it.

It really depends on what competition you're entering, in all honesty. If it's a local one, you might run into some elite lifters. But you might run into a lot of other hobbyists who just have the itch to lift in competition, too.

That's what I meant with the "No matter where you went part"

Where locally he could win, but in other places he could get his ass handed to him. or vice versa.

Yeah I've looked a few results from powerliftingwatch.com and in the central Florida region it seems the majority are lifting good numbers but I think I can be pretty close by the end of the year especially since what I'm lifting now are 5RM instead of 1RM; with the exception of a few guys who are able to lift amazing numbers for their weights. Either way I'm making it a goal within a year to do

The thing to remember is that it's a competition, but most people treat it like you're not competing with other people, but with yourself.

All things I've heard about competitions are that everyone is very, very supportive of the other competitors.

Ended week 5 strong, bench felt great, could have easily done 3 or 4 more reps. Feels great to hit two plates on my squat again even for 3 reps, I've been trying to go ass to calfs in my squats and today I was able to actually so I guess this is helping my flexibility. Looking forwards to next week!

My food intake today was 2 scoop ON Whey, 2 pieces of peanut butter bread, Nature Valley granola bar, 1/2 lb cheeseburger and fries for lunch and funny enough a 2/3lb ground sirloin burger for dinner (what can I say, I love burgers definitely miss eating them). Probably in the 2500 calorie range right now so going to have a night time snack later.

Worked out hard and great yesterday, almost up to a plate on each side for military press which I thought I'd never get to!

Also dead lifting 280 felt easier than I thought it would be, feels great to hit past 275 again.
